Background
Sativa Balm is a skincare brand that specializes in a range of lotions infused with sativa oil. Known for its moisturizing and healing qualities, sativa oil is extracted from the sativa plant and has been expertly harnessed to create a line of nourishing and deeply hydrating skincare products. These products cater to women of all skin types and offer multiple benefits, including anti-aging properties, relief from eczema, and the restoration of tone and texture. Importantly, Sativa Balm's products do not clog pores, ensuring that skin remains healthy and clear
Challenge
Sativa oil faces misconceptions due to its association with the psychoactive effects of marijuana, despite the increasing popularity of cannabis. This skepticism could pose a challenge for Sativa Balm in promoting its products and gaining customer trust.
Strategy
While there has been a shift in attitudes towards cannabis derivatives like sativa oil, stigma still surrounds them. In response, our goal was to create a brand that evokes a sense of refinement while also acknowledging the product's cannabis-based nature.
Brand Identity
The significance of Sativa oil in both the product and brand is undeniable. Rather than completely dissociating from any association with the cannabis plant, we chose to subtly acknowledge it. We achieved this by incorporating an abstract and refined representation of the Sativa leaf into the brand's logo. Additionally, we utilized beautifully sativa plant illustrations as motifs, adding an organic touch that truly captures the natural essence of the products. Furthermore, the use of pastel gradients in the packaging accentuates the brand's gentle and feminine essence, while also promoting a feeling of peace and relaxation. This aligns with the brand's mission to promote the nourishment and healing of women's skin. Sativa Balm differentiates itself by presenting a refined and sophisticated approach to cannabis-infused skincare.
Brand Application
Sativa Balm's marketing strategy was centered around encouraging women to elevate their skincare routines and rediscover their natural beauty. To convey the brand's feminine essence, the pastel colors and gradients were further utilized in promotional materials. Additionally, the brand featured models of various ethnic backgrounds to emphasize inclusivity and convey that their products are suitable for all women seeking to enhance their skin's radiance and beauty. Sativa Balm's products were positioned as tools to restore and nourish the skin, helping women enhance their natural beauty.
